A Savanna Hawk glides low over open country, broad wings held steady as it surveys the grasslands below. Common across Central and South America, this adaptable raptor favors savannas, wetlands, agricultural fields, and forest edges, where its slow, deliberate flight allows it to spot prey on the ground. Feeding on reptiles, small mammals, insects, and amphibians, the Savanna Hawk is a versatile hunter often seen perched conspicuously or coursing low over open terrain.
