A group of Cliff Parakeets sits on a sturdy branch. This species was recently split out of the Monk Parakeet species. The two species are very similar in appearance. Like Monk Parakeets, this species is one of the few parrot species that build nests. Cliff Parakeets build large communal nest of sticks in crevices and on ledges of steep cliffs. Each mated pair has its own entrance and nest cavity in the large mass of sticks.
