A Swift Parrot perched among the lush green leaves of eucalyptus trees, feeding on the delicate white flowers. The parrot's vibrant plumage features striking shades of green, red, and yellow, making it a stunning sight against the backdrop of the eucalyptus.These small parrots feed mostly on nectar and pollen, both of which are provided by these flowers. A combination of factors, including habitat loss and non-native predators have resulted in a drastic decrease in this species' population. The species is listed as Critically Endangered. I feel lucky to have seen them. They were remarkably difficult to photograph, as they were in constant motion, darting in and out of the leaves to feed on the flowers.
