The Rock Parrot is found in a narrow strip along the western and southern coast of Australia and also on offshore islands. They are often found on the rocky tops of seaside cliffs and nest is crevices and holes in the rocks. We found them on a very windy day, making it impossible to hold my camera still enough for a shot. In addition, they were very wary and would not allow us to get anywhere near them. We were lucky to see a couple of them feeding on the tops of bushes along the road, so we got photos right from the car.
