The Pale-headed Rosella, known for its striking blue plumage and, of course, is pale yellow head, is a captivating sight in the wild. Two subspecies have been described; the one shown here has blue checks, the other has yellow cheeks. Quite a bit a variation between the two extremes and the amount of blue coloration can be seen. The soft background here enhances the bird's vibrant hues.
