A White-fronted Parrot takes a look around for the edge of its nest hollow. The species is the smallest member of the genus, Amazona, most members of which are green birds with various different colors on their heads. Birds in this genus are often called "Amazons" to distinguish them from other parrots The bright red feathers around the bird's eyes have given rise to the name "Spectacled Amazon". As seen here, birds frequently take a look around for nest raiding predators before entering their nest hollow. We actually saw a pair of toucans perch near this nest. The much smaller parrots chased the toucans away. This image captures a moment of nature's wonder, inviting viewers to appreciate the intricate details of this stunning bird and its behavior..
