This striking image captures a Red-shouldered Macaw posing beautifully on the open top of a broken off palm tree. A pair of these macaws were exploring this tall stump as a possible nest site. The clearly shows in the parrot's namesake vivid red shoulder markings. The parrot's curious expression and the soft blue sky in the background create a captivating scene that highlights the beauty of wildlife. This species is the smallest of the macaws, making for a more manageable pet than the larger macaws. These birds are also called "Noble Macaws" after their scientific name, Diopsittaca nobilis.
