The interesting light in this photo is the result of the weather conditions. A dark bank of storm clouds was moving in from the east. As the clouds moved west, the light of the setting sun was shining under the clouds on this pair of macaws, making the birds stand out vibrantly against the dark clouds. Soon after the photo was taken, I was running for the car in heavy rain, trying to keep my camera dry. These birds, often called "Illiager's Macaws, are the smallest member of the genus, Ara, making them more manageable as pets than their larger cousins. Perfect for bird lovers and wildlife enthusiasts, this image brings a sense of joy and connection to nature.
