A male Tule Elk stands near his harem and looks around for any interloping competitors. This bull has at least 12 point antlers; the largest rack I have seen at Point Reyes National Seashore is 14 points. This guy had collected a large harem of females to watch over. With its alert expression and robust physique, this image highlights the size and strength of a mature bull. Observing such a majestic creature in its environment fosters a deeper appreciation for nature and its inhabitants.
